I bought this for my 9th grade daughter. I tryto find answer key for 2 practice tests at the end which was suyto be online, no website is available on the book at all nor on their website!So disappointed..Update: I found the test answer key right after the each test. My bad, but this should be listed on Table of Contents..
The book provides a decent review of the content that I need to know for the test. However, the questions were too easy and they don't give enough application, and higher order questions in the book. I found cliff notes to be better, with their questions.

Update : July 2018 and the results are in! My child scored a 5 on the test. He used this book as his main guide to what to expect on the test and to understand what test graders were looking for. He does have a fascination for Biology and used a college textbook, Khan Academy and the Princeton Test Prep book and flashcards. Of all the materials he used, he thinks this book was by far the best resource. The revamped Kaplan series Prep Plus really comes to closest to what works best for my child.Original review : The biggest improvement in the series is that it now takes into account that the young people studying for this test are often struggling with organizational skills and the ability to build a plan of study. The very last page of the book is an insert that can be cut to create a bookmark based on how long the student has to study for the test. The student can choose a study plan bookmark according to a 2 month, 1 month or 2 week study plan. The material is covered well, as Kaplan always does but has been reorganized a bit compared to earlier versions of the book. The quizzes are at the end of each chapter and full explanations are at the back of the book. The strategies provided in the book include telling you which topics are 'high yield' questions. You get labs described and explained at the end of chapters and the practice tests give you enough experience with the test so that there are few surprises on test day.My son is taking AP BIO in a week and is just finishing up with this guide. He loved it and feels totally ready for the test. I am impressed.
Kaplan makes study guidrs that are written with the appropriate language. They are not written like textbooks.You start out with how to study for the test, what to expect on the test and it describes how the test day will go. You can test yourself on what you already know and just study whay you are weak on. The guide breaks down how much to study depending on how far out you want to study for the AP.
Kaplan does a nice job with its AP prep material and this book for the biology exam is no exception. My son is just starting to use it and I think he will know what to expect of himself after using this book. It starts with a brief introduction of what the test will be like and strategies to do well. Then it has five sections that review important material that he will need to know. These parts make up the bulk of the book. There are two practice tests to do after the review and they have detailed answers and explanations. There are additional resources online as well. While my son really needs the class at school to adequately prepare for the exam, this book is a good way to review and pinpoint weal= and strong areas before test day.
Katplan makes a terrific range of AP test prep items and this is no exception. As someone who teaches at the college level, I keep a huge number of these things on hand for student use, quick reviews etc...Kaplan is my all around favorite especially for their AP items. This comes with online test examples, relevant questions and an easy to use format.
