About the Author
Larry Mullins was handed a 1955 first printing of The Urantia Book in 1968 by an advertising colleague, Clyde Bedell. Bedell was a member of the original Forum that helped publish the Urantia Papers as a book. Larry is author of Jesus: God & Man (1976), the first derivative work to be accepted for publication by Urantia Foundation. He has served the Urantia movement as President of the First Urantia Society of Oklahoma, and eight years as a General Councilor for Urantia Brotherhood. He is a noted public speaker and the author of several books on the Self-Actualization process including Immature People with Power: How to Handle Them and most recently: Get Real. His newest book, The MetaValues Breakthrough, was published by Morgan James Publishers in 2009. He is also author of A History of the Urantia Papers, which will be printed in a revised and updated version in 2010. Larry's wife, Joan Batson Mullins, is a long time devoted Urantian. He says that without her there would be far fewer successful projects. Joan and Larry live in St. Augustine, Florida. Larry's youngest daughter, Michelle, lives in Boulder and is also a devoted student of the Urantia Papers. Larry is CEO of UltraSales, Inc., a nationally syndicated advertising and marketing business.

Mr. Mullins is obviously an excellent researcher, and his objectivity is unfailing.He doesn't ignore or gloss over the difficult or controversial factors. Nor does he go for sensationalism, unlike at least one other author.Having prayerfully read this book.a second time, I can only say it is all the things I wrote in my original review, but exponentially multiplied and magified.There are numerous well-chosen digital images of letters, photos and other documents that give exta "meat" to the story of the manifesation and publication of the Urantia Book.The history of the Book is fraught with many twists, turns, and apparent cul-de-sacs - which Mr. Mullens has carefully organized into an order that clears a path to the reader's understanding of the events as the Urantia Book was transmitted, and eventually published.This is the best, most reliable and complete history about the Urantia Book, in my opinion.ETA: It has been six years since I first read this great book. My opinion of it has heightened, if that's possible, over these years and several readings.I want to add that in my estimation Dr. Sadler was absolutely not a charlatan. In fact, considering his excellent well- established reputation as both a medical physician and a psychiatrist, 1 would think he was the least likely person to become so involved in the reception and publication of the Urantia Book.
I bought this book when I began reading the Urantia Book. I recommend anyone reading the UB to read this book if there is any doubt the material in the UB is authentic. Convinced me it certainly is. The book is extremely detailed. Certainly answered any questions I had about the UB.
As a long time reader of The Urantia Book and as a searching soul for many years within the libraries of the universe of universes for answers to the most mysterious and perplexing questions man can ask - I can without any doubt recommend this book to any serious mortal. The research which Larry has done is of such a quality and with such valuable and deep insight that not only will one get a a expanded knowledge of its origin but you will get the best there ever yet today is written.Urantia Book P.557 - §12 26. Knowledge is possessed only by sharing; it is safeguarded by wisdom and socialized by love. This seem to be Larry Mullins root and spark in his investigation and research into How the History of Urantia Book got into mortal reality as the Fifth Epochal Revelation to Man.The history reveal in details and with such a thoroughly seriousness the backdrop of The Urantia Book. Any reader of The Urantia Book should without any doubt also read this one.Urantia Book P.556 - §7 5. Difficulties may challenge mediocrity and defeat the fearful, but they only stimulate the true children of the Most Highs.Am quite sure Larry is one of those children - His work is trustworthy, honest and done with the utmost sincerity. I am grateful for a man like him, to do the work I never was able to do. Thank You Larry.
I have been reading the Urantia book for years, since 1983, so it was quite intriguing to read about the history. I have never questioned the authenticity of the Urantia book, but still, the history was quite telling. Amazing.
A must read if you are curious about The Urantia Boolk.and its origins.Mullins takes a scholarly approach and delivers real substance.
This book was fascinating. To learn about how the Urantia Book actually came into being isthe truth-is-stranger-than-fiction story of our era! Larry Mullins and Dr. Sprunger have providedthe research and documentation that dispels myths and furthers a clearer understanding ofthe process, people, and historical period that culminated in the papers that would be boundtogether into the Urantia Book in 1955. It is well written and reads like a novel. I greatly enjoyedthis book!
