Finally getting this review done ...the question that will consistently come up during the Christian life ...am i saved even though i did ...?..or will i go to heaven if i do ...???and dont have time to repent. . ???..honestly this question really can make a normal Christian person nutty with fear ....we love our AOG church dearly and love our history with the denomination but this and many others will literally turn your Christian security in jesus to ..if i mess up and dont have time to repent. .well....you never know you could actually go to hell even though we have lived all our life for jesus but that one little mess moment of weakness got ur behind on the barby ...i say BULL PUCKEY. ..how silly that we think that little of God that he being our father is just sitting there with his finger on the button waiting. ...with a watch .. bc u better repent before u kik the bucket ... First of all I do believe that Dr. Stanley is a true man of God and a Bible believing Christian, who lives and preaches that life, from everything I've heard about him or things I've heard him say on the radio. I think he did a great job in giving Biblical evidence, (quoting Scripture) to back up his reasoning. Some of these verses are really, really, touch, and the fact that he seems to lean on "the context" of the verse, to me is very important, and sometimes can even be a "deal breaker", when it comes to "well, what is the real meaning here". God bless you, Charles, for devoting your live to Christ and helping others with your sermons and books and even the life you lead, (I'm talking about some of the stories you've told on the radio, where it really appeared that God was in charge in working out the issues at hand).

Excellent book! Charles Stanley writes from a personal perspective having fought against Eternal Security in his early years. Through careful study of scripture and listening to the Lord's leading, he is able to clearly and decisively explain the truth of Eternal Security from a biblical perspective as well as a personal perspective. If this is an issue that you're struggling with, struggle no more, you've found a sound resource for settling this issue.

Very well written and to the point, essentially affirming the following tenant: if you believe it's possible to lose Salvation, then you've sinned--blaspheming the Holy Spirit--and done so. So, Christ's sacrifice wasn't sufficient to the cause and only "perfect" you can take up the slack, to fill where He failed? No, Salvation is a gift erasing innate sin. The price you pay for volitional sin is a loss of rewards at the Bema Seat Judgment. Call on Christ to save you, to fill you up with the great Comforter, and have total confidence in Him. Do good works upon your Salvation foundation and keep your eyes on the prize: riches in Heaven!

Thank you Pastor Stanley for this book. Every scripture I've ever read that I thought meant the loss of salvation, you wrote about and explained how they have been taken out of context but when they're read in context, they take on their actual meaning. Thank you also for explaining how not every person that's got salvation will be treated the same in eternity. Every person will be judged and there will be some who get greater rewards in eternity than others so everyone needs to work out their salvation with fear and trembling (now I really understand this scripture) because what we do with our lives here on earth will definitely have either rewards or consequences in eternity! I praise the Lord for allowing you to write this book and for my friend Pastor Russ Williams to discuss it with our wonderful Spiritual Warfare walk-out class at Mt. Paran North in Marietta, GA.

A must read for anyone who has ever considered the possibility that their salvation can be "lost". Dr. Stanley does an excellent job of showing that believing that one can be saved and then lost is just a lack of faith in and understanding of the true power of the Blood of the Lamb. Argument after argument in favor of "backsliding" is refuted in a clear and concise manner.

First purchased and read this many years ago and passed in on to a friend. While participating in a SS discussion decied to read again. Dr Stanley is a gifted theologian and man of God. Recommend this book for everyone whose ever doubled eternal security of Gods salvation. It's not earned, it's Gods gift to all who believe and receive Christ as their Savior.

Lightweight theology by a lightweight theologian. While his overall conclusion (eternal security) is generally correct, he gets there by mishandling scripture. He actually weakens the case for eternal security by the weakness of his arguments.

There is a problem with the electronic version of the book on iPhones if you use the black background and white text. On many pages the first sentence was cut off making it difficult to join the dots or know the pearls of wisdom being offered. It was very frustrating. The publishers did mention they are looking into it.BUT...Apart from that - this book is a must read for every business big and small. I am scared for big businesses out there who are stuck in rigid ways of operating and thinking. They're in for a surprise. But I am just as scared for my little business who has to follow the recommendations to ensure long term sustainability. There is so much that has to happen and it is extremely overwhelming for a 2 man business less than 3 years old. That being said, least we are forewarned and can start designing our customer experiences around their needs.The book is information overload - I mirror the sentiments above, it's a long read - but an important one. And we can't say we weren't warned now. I do think it offers golden opportunities for software developers out there to build the tools we need to manage social business in future. If you have one, please by all means tell me about it.Comprehensive research, well written, mostly practical, helpful real world examples, often scary.I made copious notes throughout the book and believe I will buy the hard copy due to the reading issues I had, and because the book needs to become an operating manual we need to refer to often.Read this book if you own a business.

However the real life stories and current business examples (Zappos, Virgin America, Starbucks. etc) makes the time spent on the book even more worth while as they are relevant and forward thinking. Brian does a good job by providing useful charts and info graphs throughout the book, but what I personally feel he does best is by providing a summary at the end of each chapter in bullet points and this reinforces the concepts covered in each chapter. The use of color in the book also helped captivate my attention while reading.Overall this book has exceeded my expectations and has given me a boost to succeed in my graduate program and career ahead. It covers the areas in sales and marketing to customer service and product development to leadership and culture. It is a must read for those interested in how businesses are changing and the future of customer engagement. I would highly recommend this book not only to marketers but also to entrepreneurs and managers in other industries. Senior to junior executives that want to get a jump start against the competition will also find this useful.

It is fairly unusual for me to take a week to read a book, but the new book by Brian Solis is one of those books you need to take nice and slow to get all the nuances in it. I think personally that this is Brian Solis at his best, this is him at his peak performance, and as his skill as a writer. The book is that good, with very good stories and homilies to help sink home what he is saying. In many ways social media has transformed us all into highly connected people, with quality online relationships, and new ways of getting information into the hands of consumers.I like the way that people are broken out into various types, from passive people who consume but take no action, to spammers, observers, trolls, and the perpetually whiny that live with us every day. The internet is a macrocosm of who we are as a society. If anything we are building the very first universal global society with its own culture, standards and morality. Everyone is invited in, people, companies, government, military, and the occasional passerby. Brian captures that in all its detail, with guide posts and road maps to how these work, and how these fail. The birth of the first global society tied together in all its functions and all its glory is going to be an interesting birth, and we are fortunate enough to be here at this time, helping, hindering, and changing to accommodate the growth and formation of that society.There are so many things that stand out about this book from my own personal observation of the classroom and my students, to the interactions I see at large gatherings of people that this book was easy enough to bring home and make comparisons to my own real and online life. Brian hits all the major things I have seen on the D-list on the internet, and in my own interactions with both online and in person realities.This is why this book rocks, this is why I get this, I see this every day in the school room and in my own life. Go into any Starbucks, most are connected in one way or another to the internet. Go into my classroom and you will see students fact checking me, using the internet for support, and engaging with their friends when the other students are catching up to the quicker students. He hits this one on the head, rather than haves and have not's, we are in the era of are you connected. While the book will not transform my life and make me a multi-zillionaire, what it does do is validate my own experience on line and in person. What he sees I have seen, what he has experience I have experienced, we all live here in one way or another, and the most impoverished person is the one without connections, contacts, or a visible online life.While he really does not go into the downsides of a public life, that is also just fine. We are just starting out, and observations matter at this point. Welcome to the global society, we are all here in one way or another, what we do with it matters. How companies intersect with the new global society matters, how people intersect with companies, authority, schools, and others matters. Brian captures that beautifully, making this the most important book you should read this year if you are interested in how the world of online and offline are intermixed, and valuable to those who chose to live life that way.Rating this 5 of 5 stars, as a must read for anyone who is interested in what changes we have to make to accommodate and be successful in the world's first global culture.

My son is in 2nd grade and came home with an older version of this book. He seemed interested so his aunt purchased this for him for Christmas. This is an awesome coffee table book to peruse and I love that my son picks it up periodically and just reads it because it is interesting.This book tells you facts such as what is the most traveled to tourist destination in the US. Or what the driest (wettest, coldest, warmest) inhabited place in the world. This isn't so much a Guinness Book of World Records telling you all of the crazy and awesome things people have done, although there are things like musician who sold the most records, actor who made the most money, etc.I highly recommend this book.

This World Record book is really fun to look at, at bedtime. It has epic fails and epic wins in it. I think the Scholastic World Record Book is better than the Guinness World Record Books because it's easier for kids to read. I'm in 3rd grade and can read it just fine.

These were gifts for 8 & 9 year old boys and a big hit. The different color, subject related tabs made finding information easier for them. The rest of the family spent Thanksgiving afternoon responding to 'hey, look at this photo and granddad, did you know....., etc.' I bought more for some of the children on the Giving-tree at church. Think, this time, I hit a home run.

Better title would be: 2014 BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS. Granted, it's still 2016 and records have yet to be set; however, a book of 2014 records and published in 2015 is a year behind.Fortunately, this is my 8-year old' s introduction to published records; and the publication is filled with a broad range of fields depicted brief statements, color photos and graphs.

I bought this for my 7-year-olds. They're near the end of 1st grade. I realized when I checked the DRA level that this is theoretically way over their reading level (6th grade) but they've still enjoyed reading it. They occasionally ask what a word means but overall it's been a great hit.

My son wanted this book from his school's scholastic. But since money is tight, I decided to check out Amazon's price. It turns out it's cheaper with Amazon. One of the pages did fall out though. Other than that my son loves the book.

This item is exactly what it claims to be. My son loves it and they love going back to refer to some of the silly records. Provided the family with plenty of laughs!

I was looking for information on the copper cased lighters made in 2003, and information on the 1932/3, 1935, 1937, and 1941 Reproduction lighters made in recent years. You might think that a book on Zippo lighters would mention that Zippo made faithful reproductions of their earliest lighters, but no.However, if you want dozens and dozens of pages of pictures of lighters with emblems of fish or horses or dogs, or men golfing, this is your book.And how about these "Access Codes"-- what is that all about?I think the "pricing information" is a waste. Any "pricing" information will be obsolete the day the book comes out, or before. A better approach is a rarity guide-- assign values of 1 through 10 for rarity, and give a link to a web site for current pricing.I wanted to find out how it is made, where it is made, why it is made, prototypes, competing product lines, competing manufacturers, unusual product lines, interviews with the people who designed, made, or even sold and sell Zippos. I wanted to find out some history. The history of Zippo did not start in 1932 with Blaisdell. It started in Austria where that lighter that inspired Blaisdell was made. How about some information on that? And that lighter was based on another. How was that 1932 design (1933 production) first Zippo like and unlike its Austrian predecessor?

I have enjoyed this oracle deck. This is going to be a quick review as there isn't much to say about these cards as the intent of it is quite straightforward. So sometimes we simply need a yes or a no answer! This deck is meant for that.Within the deck is Doreen Virtue's standard 44-cards. What I love about this deck is that it was created with Radleigh Valentine who I think is amazing with the realm of Tarot and oracle card divination. I think some of Doreen's best decks are the ones where she's actually utilized other people to make... so her oracle tarot collection with Radleigh and also the Indigo Angel deck with her son, are a few examples.INITIAL READINGS:Um, my initial readings with this deck was mixed. I would find that it would give me somewhat contradictory answers especially if I pulled more than one card (ie 2 cards). Sometimes when I pulled one card it would be an inaccurate reading. If I pulled two cards, they would often contradict, but at least one of them were accurate. Therefore I decided not to rely on this deck for such answers, which was a shame because after all that was the purpose of the deck.RADLEIGH VALENTINE'S TUTORIAL:So recently I was listening to HayHouse radio (the publisher of all of Doreen Virtue, Sonia Choquette, Esther Hicks, etc. stuff) and Radleigh has his one hour weekly radio broadcast and he decided for that show to highlight using Angel Answers deck. After hearing this episode something really clicked! He utilizes this deck differently than Doreen. Doreen tells you to pull only one card from out of the 44-cards and that's your answer. Radleigh uses it differently. He separates the one deck into 3 different piles. One pile is for the yes/no type of cards. The other pile is for timing cards. The third pile is for the rest of the cards. So if you have a question and you want a simple yes/no, you pick up the pile of yes/no type of cards and shuffle those for answers. If you want to know when it will take place, you would pick up the pile for timing cards and shuffle and pick one card. If you want other details then you would resort to picking up the last pile of cards. So yes, Radleigh is a genius! He also tells you there are 2 "No" cards and two "Yes" cards, one of each has an exclamation mark at the end. If you get one of the emphatic YES or NO cards, its telling you absolutely a very strong yes or no... so don't even doubt the answer.MY READINGS NOW:Using Radleigh's technique had improved my readings with these cards so dramatically its very consistent now. I'm just waiting for the events I've inquire about to pass. I think one did already, and using his technique it was accurate.CONS:The images are kinda like a pink cotton candy puked over this deck with a gilded Liberace feel. However the cardstock quality on this deck is amazing! I feel really kinestetically connected which is not common for me with a lot of Doreen Virtue decks. The timing cards only go up to a year... it would be nice if they added more timing possibilities. I was recently discussing decks on predicting timing with a friend and how there doesn't seem to be one that exists. I went so far as to make my own, but then the "Angel Answers" deck arrives. Peeling through it I discovered it's much more than a `yes' or `no' deck. It's also a timing deck! I'm indifferent to the use of predicting timing for myself or others since time is fluid, ever shifting and changeable. We know this, but it doesn't stop us from wanting to know when something will happen. That's where this deck offers some additional help.I've been doing trial tests on others and answering their questions by using this deck. I've found it to be precise and on the mark. I'd say about 10 of the 44 cards in this deck are direct when it comes to timing. The cards that are more exact when it comes to timing have phrases on them such as: In the Near Future, A Year From Now, Not the Right Time, Within the Next Few Months, Perfect Timing, Within the Next Few Weeks, Unlikely, If you Believe, Perfect Timing.This deck is great to use when you need a quick answer on something or would like to get as close to accurate timing as you can. You want to get straight to the point. Keep in mind that you will not always pick a card which points to exactly when something will begin to surface. There might be additional messages that need to be followed in order for something to come to fruition.The cards are easy to shuffle and easy on the eyes. They're bright with a ton of gold and violet popping at you. The images are of angels, saints and other brilliant lights. It struck me much like when you go to those fun, novelty "fortune telling" machines with a gypsy fortune teller's head in the box. A card pops out with a little fortune on it. Except these images are of colorful spirit lights peering at you in most of them.There is a card that says, "Yes" and one that says, "Yes!" As well as a card that says, "No" and one that says, "No!" If you receive a plain old "Yes" or "No" card, then it's a soft yes or no. You could technically ask for additional information in another card as to why something is a yes or no. However, you get a card with an exclamation point that says, "Yes!" or "No!" - then you have a firm response. There is no need to dig further.There are also words on the cards such as, "No need to worry", meaning don't obsess over when something is going to happen. All will work out the way it is intended. It will happen, but be patient and have faith that it will. I recently experienced a bad ankle sprain due to a rock climbing accident. I consulted these cards to ask how it's going. I pulled the "Improving Health" card. I was born with heightened clairaudience, so hearing which card to flip over translates to me constantly flipping over the correct card. Some of the other cards that exist in this deck are: Romance, Let Go, Reconsider, Compromise, Choose a New Direction, Meditation Brings Answers, Don't Stop, Get More Information, Recovery.I was guided to pull three cards from this deck for someone wanting to know when her boyfriend was going to move out of his residence. The cards pulled from this deck were, "Take Action", "You're Ready" and "Ask for help from others". Reading those three cards you can likely assess how this will go. They did not give me timing or say that it wasn't going to happen. It would happen if the guy does something about it (Take Action). He does need to move and can no longer be in the living situation he's in (You're ready). But he will not be able to do it on his own (Ask for help from others). As it turns out, the guy is working with someone who is looking for a new residence for him. He is unable to move out on his own. If he doesn't follow these steps, then it won't happen according to the messages in the spread.I've been using this deck obsessively since I received it. I've found it to be a ton of fun. You don't need to be an experienced reader to use this deck. This will work beautifully for some as it does for me, and not so much for others.

What a gorgeous deck, with its gold gilding. The illustrations are bright and ethereal and its very easy to tap into "the quiet" and let the cards speak to you. In addition to the typical yes/no/maybe cards, there are others that give clearer answers and guidance like, "Big, Happy Changes", "A Year From Now", "Ask For Help From Others", etc. Every time I've used this deck, I felt at one with it and as I relaxed, the cards I'd flip I felt were really speaking to my questions. It helps to shuffle the cards really good and to cleanse with sage or sweetgrass before using.

This is the first book I have read by this Author. It is so good that I will now read his other two. A dorky little kid named Billy tells the story. He and his Dad moved to this little island town when he was a toddler after his Mom died. His dad is The maintenance worker for rental cottages. Billy hopes to be a scientist and even does some rudimentary observations for a biologist at a college.One of the teen daughters of a cottage renter, he met this past summer, has come up missing. Police from all over came in to lend a hand in trying to find her on this little island to no avail.Billy decides he is going to use his observation skills to find clues in hopes he can pass them along to the police and become a hero and get his picture in the paper.He has to keep all this under wraps though because his Dad is real cautious about any spotlight being shone on them.Don’t let my poor review cause you to think this is a rudimentary story about a little kid and his sweet summer adventure. This is a psychological murder mystery with twists and turns. Fast moving. No long boring passages. The author keeps the story on track and provides characters that you like, hate, love.What Billy tells you is true but he doesn’t know the whole story, or does he.? There is a sub story here that is woven throughout the book. Glimpses of Billy’s past that finally come to light in a surprising way.I read it in 2 Days. I think that is a high recommendations of a good read.

I bought this book on a random whim while I was looking for something new to read. I liked it, the story was intriguing. I liked the perspective of Billy and as detective West was following leads I felt like she was on to something. Overall a pretty solid story I wouldn't hesitate to check out other books by this author.

I truly enjoyed this book. It took me about a week to get through the first third, but the last two thirds I could not put down and finished in a day, and I'm not usually a fast or terribly committed reader.Billy Wheatley is a wonderful character. He's so relatable and likeable, though he would not think so. The suspense was intense and I kept wavering on who I thought had abducted Olivia and whether she was alive or dead.The most exciting character in the book was the ocean. Living on the Pacific coast, I loved how well this author describes everything about a coastal community, the waves, the rocks and the marine life.

After reading The Wave at Hanging Rock I couldn't wait for Dunnett's latest book to come out. It didn't disappoint. Much of the story is seen through the eyes of a very bright eleven year old boy who doesn't always understand what he is seeing. This keeps the edge sharp. The tension builds throughout the book until the last third when I just couldn't put it down. I hope Gregg Dunnett is working hard on his next novel!

I bought this not realizing that Mr. Dunnett is also the author of one of my new recent favorites, The Wave at Hanging Rock. This story takes place in a small island off the coast of the east coast of the U.S. The first few chapters are narrated by 11 year old Billy, an unusual boy. He seems to prefer the company of adults than his peers; most of his interests aren't even on the radar of other 11 year olds. He is fascinated with marine life among other things and has little 'projects' littered across the island. He lives with his dad in a cottage overlooking the sea. Dad is rather inscrutable, and definitely has secrets. Billy loves him, but also fears him at times.A teenage tourist visiting the island goes missing without a trace, prompting months of help from mainland police, but to no avail. Billy decides that the police don't know what they're doing and that he will try to solve the mystery himself. What he finds sets in motion the rest of the plot. As with The Wave at Hanging Rock, this story goes in places I never expected. I loved the character of Billy; so precocious and logical, but at the same time, a child.

Overall the book was entertaining but I felt it did drag in places. The characters really didn't "grab me." I felt they were pretty one dimensional. Billy, the 11 year old kid, was OK but by 11 most kids have a little more personality than he did. I guess I was comparing him to my 12 year old grandson who has more smarts and more understanding of the world so perhaps this kid lived a more sheltered life. I especially didn't like how little regard he had for the life of the missing girl. Once he figured out she was a captive at Mr. Foster's he should have told an adult but just went on with his so-called investigation and came back a whole week later after she was "killed" or at least that was what he thought and it was ho-hum. Well let's watch a while longer and see how many more clues we can find. The ending wasn't bad but ended kind of abruptly after dragging out the rest of the story. It wasn't my favorite young adult fiction. I kept reading simply because I did want to find out who the killer was so it did keep the suspense there going through the whole book. That is why I gave it 4 stars.

The Things You Find in Rockpools is an enjoyable psychological mystery/suspense that is hard to put down. Once I began reading this book I had to finish it to find out the identity of the killer.It is filled with twists and turns that kept this reader engrossed. The characters are well defined with some you will love and others hate. Every worthwhile story needs both types of characters. The main protagonist is Billy. He is only nine years old but commands this story with his intelligence, scientific knowledge and innocence.There is a girl missing in his town and Billy feels compelled to assist the police by doing his own investigation since they are at a stalemate. What he doesn’t realize is his investigation is leading him into more trouble than he ever imagined.There are so many twists and turns making for an enjoyable romp right up until the end. I don’t want to give away any of the clues. If you want to read one of the best psychological mystery/thrillers out there, in my opinion, you need to get a copy right away and enjoy. I look forward to the next thrilling book that this talented author writes.
