Purchased this for my mom. She loves sudoku. She has short term memory loss so the calendar helps her remember the date and she gets a daily puzzle.

Just as shown

Based on the 2018 version, I highly recommend this Sudoku desktop calendar. There is a good variety of difficulty, and last year there was only one puzzle that I was not able to solve. The paper is magazine-type, sturdy and slick enough to withstand multiple erasures. Best of all are the spaces for memos beside the puzzles. I used them each day to write (and hide!) notes to my husband.

The Physics of Music and Color deals with two subjects, music and color - sound and light in the physically objective sense - in a single volume. I was very happy to finally see the materials for this course in an actual text book (updated since the time I took the course sans any textbook). As advertised, this is a text for a first level physics course for college - typically liberal arts majors, e.g., freshman year, (satisfying their science distribution requirement). While not as calculus/vector/formula 'centric as traditional physics courses, I agree with the introduction that this text delivers an introductory level understanding of physics. My experience from taking this course is that it certainly can be more effective for liberal arts majors compared to a more traditional (and dry) physics textbook.To put it another way, science/engineering majors will find the presentation less theoretical/mathematical compared to physics for their more technical track. However, the book is nonetheless worthwhile (and should be fun) even for scientists/engineers precisely because of its focus on presenting physics principles in the context of modeling the transmission/perception of music and color. In particular, anyone interested in the underlying science of audio/music and light/images/video should get something out of this book, e.g., where the relationships between how music and light are transmitted via waves/packets are explored, and how the human ear/eye/brain system perceives them. Is the ear an integrator and the eye a differentiator? - and how do these models account for optical and auditory illusions and perceptions? I do not know of many introductory physics textbooks that include the physics of the ear and the eye as an integral part of the curriculum. By framing the overall context (music/color), and furthermore posing specific questions to be answered (sometimes as a thought experiment) based upon everyday experience, I think the book succeeds with its targeted approach compared to a glut of introductory physics textbooks that re-hash the same material (devoid of such interesting context).This text would also be excellent choice for a first year physics course for audio engineering and/or video production students. The material in this text book motivated me as an undergraduate to further study engineering, audio engineering, and music; it is a unique and valuable text from my experience as both a student (and now also as a teacher of college level audio students).

I've done all of the Charley Harper puzzles now and enjoyed them all. Pomegranate does really nice puzzles....sturdy pieces that don't warp and delaminate all over the place and have a nice 'snick' feeling when you connect the right pieces. The pieces are standard in shape (not the wonky random shapes some companies offer) and aren't oversized. My only complaint was that I had to work it sidewise since it was very long and narrow and didn't fit on my usual puzzle table. Most 1000 piece puzzles fit just fine on this table, including the other Pomegranate Charley Harper puzzles I've worked.....not this one. I buy each new Charley Harper puzzle as it is offered without pause!

I originally did a Pomegranate Artpiece puzzle at work, so I knew the puzzle pieces were thick and well-printed. I found their Charley Harper prints and I loved the vector art, so I bought this puzzle, and it was very enjoyable. The dimensions of the puzzle were a fun change to the squatter rectangles or circles that I usually do, and I loved the vectorized art in solid colors. I did this puzzle a while ago, so I don't remember how much puzzle dust there was. But the individual sections could be moved around pretty easily and stay in one piece. I'm definitely going to buy more puzzles from this brand, and if you like the art on this one, I recommend it to you!

Quite tall/long so I put it together sideways on the table so I could get at all sides easily. The pieces are sturdy. It was a bit difficult in places but I liked the challenge. The colors are great and so is the design. Would recommend.

Nice puzzle with a matte finish. Puzzle pieces come in a ziploc bag within the box. These pieces are regularly shaped so I would recommend this for somebody new to 1000 piece puzzles. The only frustrating thing with this was one piece was missing. I'm not sure if it fell on the floor and got gobbled-up by one of the dogs or if it never made it into the package. Since I don't count pieces before putting puzzles together, I can't say for certain.

I like Charley Harper's work, so I was eager to do this puzzle. The solid color birds and edges were relatively easy but then there were lots of little green leaves on black which were challenging. Good quality manufacturing; pieces fit together and hold well. Regular, square-ish pieces (as opposed to odd shapes).

Hardest puzzle I've done in my life. I loved the oblong shape. And, man, so many of the pieces ALMOST fit in several spaces -- very tricky. I will say some of the pieces weren't well cut. So, when you got "tricked" into placing a piece in the wrong spot, it's easy to damage the piece it was connected to. But, very fun -- took days and days.

I really admire Harper's interpretation of all things nature. The colors are vibrant and the birds come to life as the puzzle fits together. Even my husband enjoyed putting this together. A wonderful break from watching yet another Netflix production. Considered framing but don't think i want to invest in a frame. It'll be a nice puzzle to pass on to a friend who won't mind that it's already been 'used'

The puzzle is very pretty.. Looks just like the pictures.. The colors are bright and shapes are neat. However, it is true that some pieces fit perfectly in wrong places which can be confusing but I really did not mind this because I always take into account the colors and patterns when placing them.Also, it gave me allergies so I had to spray desinfectant to the pieces and wear a hankershief in my face to solve it. But I guess it is just me !
