Rachel met Joe one summer. He was older than her. She ends up telling him her feelings and he lets her down easy.14 years later, she is divorced now and trying to rebuild her life. She can't believe when she runs into Joe again. He bought her dream house.They take it slow rebuilding their relationship.I loved this second chance love story. It was sweet and fun. A new author for me who I will definitely be checking out more of this works.
I really loved the beginning of this story. It was just adorable. We get to meet Rachel Sachs and Joe Silver/Email Joe. They had had a crush on each other back when they were teenagers. However, Joe rejected Rachel at the time. That broke her heart and pretty much set the course of her life for the next 14 years when they meet again.I really enjoyed Rachel’s interactions with pretty much everyone. She was cute, funny and full of life. Unfortunately, that’s about all I liked about the book, and I guess I just did not get it. I can’t tell you much about Joe since we did not get his POV at all, and he sort of talked like a person in his late teens, early 20’s in spite of being an adult in his mid 30’s. Had I been Rachel, I would have stopped talking to him after the tenth time he asked me if he was a creep or apologized for being a creeper. I would also like to mention that other than a few friendly texts here and there, the first over 55% of the book is pretty much about Rachel and her love of doing other people’s hair. It was very informational in that regard. I learned so much about cutting layers, framing the face, foiling, shears, how a hair show actually works, how a hair salon works and how hard the hair stylists work. Like I said, very informational. So the relationship with Joe develops more in the second half. It’s like a super slow burn. And you want it to burn already. It really felt more like a teen romance more than anything. Teen romance with people who were far from being teens.Other than that, Rachel’s friends were really awesome and hilarious, and I’d probably read their stories if they were to make an appearance.
Cut Short is a second chance romance that I was happy staying up all night to read. It was so emotional, that I teared up a few times, and there was a little anger thrown in as well. But the romance between Joe and Rachel was a soaring ride I was happy to be on. It had all the feels, great friendships, and parental relationships as well. But the love was sweet, hot, and burned off the page. Not your typical second chance, romance. It will be put in my favorites, to be read again soon. I definitely recommend it!
Rachel and Joe was a good story. It goes to show that sometimes crushes do turn into love storys. I really fell in love with Jo he is such a sweet and caring guy. I know people who have been in Rachel's shoes. I'm going to read the next book now. I hope it's as good as this book.
I think I related to this one too much. I love second chances and musicians. This one had both, along with friends to lovers. Rachel and Joe had a sweet, slow burning relationship, but that didn't mean it didn't come with heartbreak. This story had me from start to finish.
This book was very well done. We see the adorable relationship of the teen years and the more mature- but still cute- adult relationship that develops. I really enjoyed seeing these characters build a relationship together and I wish I had my own Joe.
Seriously sweet, sexy, and heartwarming book. Rachel and Joe's story had me hooked from chapter one. Rachel is a strong heroine and Joe is a perfect mix of sexy as hell, adorable, practical, and just damn perfect. Their love story was a slow burn and I'm so thankful the author took her time and allowed the reader to fall in love with the characters just as they fell in love with each other. I've already bought the next two in the series and I can't wait to read them. Julia Wolf has become a one-click author for me. Buy this book!! You will love it.
