I love books with a hero & his dog! Serena has had a stalker for years. She was forced to move and take on a new identity three years ago with her small Poodle, Susie. Serena met her new neighbor when his huge dog dug a hole under her fence. Quinn moved back to his hometown, continuing his career as a firefighter. He and his Great Dane, Brutus, are both arson investigators/detectors. Susie and Brutus, the odd couple, are very determined to stay together! When house fires start again and Serena’s friends are missing or show up dead, she fears her stalker has found her. Can Quinn and Brutus keep her safe? Will they trust God to show who the stalker has always been? This story is filled with suspense, romance and dogs - I’ve loved reading this book!
This book makes me think a good author needs to take a break and challenge herself with something new. The story holds a lot of elements that do well together in the romantic suspense genre. However, it felt like ready made pieces were just glued together. And, while the characters had backgrounds, they didn't feel like they belonged to these particular characters.
Another great story by one of my favorite authors. The hero in this story is a fireman and he specializes in arson....his special dog is also trained to aid in the findings of a fire, especially ones started by an arsonist. The story escalates when his neighbor who has a stalker is in trouble....a great read.
Five stars---Margaret Daly is an excellence writer!! She does an outstanding job with the story & the characters in her books. There is lots of intrigue and romance in each story--- these are clean faith-based books !! Highly recommended for everyone!!
I enjoyed this one as much as Book 1. A sweet romance with added suspense are always fun to read, adds a little zip to the storyline. Nicely written with characters I liked, kept me reading until the hea. Will be buying Book 3 when available. JudyE
I love reading this book with it's faith base read funny reading about a friend ship beween a great Dane and a breed of dog that is a toy and a good mystery
But I knew it would be excellent, I have found Nora Roberts to be a great author with a mixture of suspense, humor and sex I never get board with her books.
A delightful story with strong characters and a strong storyline. It is filled with suspense, mystery, faith, and a love story too.
